There are a million wax polishes on the market, but none have met our stringent needs for an all-purpose protective wax for wood and metal. After unveiling our solvent-based wax we were asked for a food-contact safe formula suitable for cutting boards, wooden spoons, salad bowls, and other similar surfaces. This oil-based blend is made with 100% food-contact safe ingredients.
Comprised of a blend of microcrystalline paraffin for its good adhesion qualities, and high-grade polyethylene wax for its luster and high hardness (even harder than carnauba wax!), this wax polish provides a clear, hard, but flexible coating that buffs to a pleasant shine. The oil base gives a cream-like consistency for easy application that penetrates the valleys of uneven or textured surfaces. Made with premium heat treated, high-linoleic acid safflower oil, known for being light in color, flavorless, and polymerizing, safflower oil has been a traditional choice for fine oil paints for centuries, especially for light pigments that would discolor and yellow over time with other common oils like linseed oil. While slower to fully oxidize to form a natural polymer than raw linseed oil, the resulting finish is durable and better preserves the natural color of the wood.
Packaged in a 2 oz (~59ml) capacity screw top aluminum tin with an HDPE lid liner for an improved seal.
