Rinaldi "Sicilia" Micro Axe -- "Grade B"
Rinaldi "Sicilia" Micro Axe -- "Grade B"
The Sicilia pattern axe is much like the Calabria pattern with a narrower bit. The straight bit, while not as deeply penetrating as a curved one, is more efficient at connecting repeated blows and allows for very rapid felling. Featuring a linear wedge-like (but narrow) taper from the bit to the eye, this tomahawk-sized little axe makes for a good ultralight all-'rounder for both chopping and splitting tasks when every ounce matters. The eye is tapered and the handle slipped through the top like the handle of a tomahawk or pickaxe, making it easy to fashion a new one in the event of breakage. 250g head.
The only thing wrong with this example is a small cosmetic chip in the wood at the end of the handle.
If selecting the Special Grade option we will thin and refine the factory edge.
Suggested Uses: Backpacking, emergency preparedness, scouting/light trekking.
