You choose the restoration work, we choose the blade! Fine examples of vintage American pattern scythe blades brought to a properly thin, restored bevel to get them ready to mow. Offering a full range of restoration options to give you control over how much work you want us to put into the job. Select your general blade classification and the work you wish for us to perform and write a description of your ground type (smooth or bumpy?) and mowing conditions (type of vegetation mixes and density) in the comments field of your order and we'll pick the best blade we have in our stockpile for your purposes.
If requesting tang adjustment please let us know your measurements (hip socket to floor and elbow to outstretched fingertip) in the comments section of the order so we can best approximate the correct angle. Knowing the degrees of lift in the neck of your snath and the expected mowing conditions are also helpful.
If selecting the rough grind option we will fully bevel the blade, but with a coarse finish that requires final deburring and honing before being ready to mow. If selecting the deluxe fine option we will bring the bevel to a finer polish and perform final honing so that the blade is ready to mow out of the box. A light burr will be present from grinding and polishing of the edge that will come off in the first few honing sessions during use.
