A true classic in every sense, the Council Tool Classic Michigan double bit axe shows that quality American made tools can still be found at budget-friendly prices. While no one will mistake them for boutique axes, the classic lines of this double Michigan pattern with its phantom bevels still manages to inspire awe. Perfectly balanced, one edge is traditionally used for rough work that is likely to damage the axe, reserving the other (often kept at an extra thin angle) for chopping in clear wood for greater efficiency. Many also like to use double-bitted axes for splitting using the "twist" technique.

If selecting the Special Grade option we will thin and refine the factory edges.
