With all axe handles, some degree of final shaping is needed to properly shape the tongue to snugly fit the head, there's always anxiety around whether or not a given handle will fit the eye of a certain tool, and the handle itself is often overly thick and requires slimming for optimum function. Meanwhile, users often have strong preferences about what kind of knob they want on their handles, but are limited to whatever the maker supplies, and hickory billets are heavy and expensive to ship. What the market has needed is a semi-finished handle where the tedious work of shaping the length has been done for you, and either end left unfinished for final shaping and fitting. Well, wait no longer!

Made from premium-graded hand-split hickory for perfect and continuous end-to-end grain, these handles are made as a universal fit for all axes and axe-like eyed tools. CNC lathe-turned down to only 41/64" (about 16.5mm) at its thinnest, the entire main length of the handle is reduced to a beautifully slim cross section to rival the thinnest vintage handles, while both ends are left at full billet dimension, allowing you to shape the neck, tongue, and knob to your preferred shape, style, and fit. 

Split stock is NOT cheap, but we think you'll agree the wood quality is the likes of which axe nerds have only dreamt of, with flawless alignment and unbroken grain for unparalleled strength and shock resistance. While wood will always remain a natural and fickle product, this rigorous grading and splitting delivers the very finest possible consistency possible.
